Compact on the Common
A small space was reimagined in a clever way for this project. The client had owned the 600-square-foot condo on Boston Common for 20 years—and it was showing its age. The interior was tired, dated and not very functional; the bed was positioned in the entryway and there was no closet. To its advantage, the unit had panoramic views of the Back Bay, Financial District and the Harbor—but its furniture placement did little to maximize them. Anita was charged with reconfiguring the space; she elevated its sophistication profile with the careful selection of fixtures, finishes and furnishings. She demonstrated, as she often does, that the right furniture can make all the difference. The showstopper: a multifunctional custom bed fabricated in Italy. The LGM Tavolo is a desk, bed and shelving all in one. At first glance it looks like 35 linear feet of shelving and a 5-foot, fold-down table; but by simply rotating the piece, you expose a queen-size bed and side tables. The project may have been small in scale, but thanks to a few transformative moves, it’s very big on style.

In every design project we strive to make every detail aesthetically perfect, efficient and functional as possible. In this case, we did this relocation of the spaces, added 75% more storage and specified furnishings that transformed this space from day to night.
